The Standard Color Reference of America is a book of fabric swatches of different colors, produced by The Color Association of America.  The exact red, white and blue (only officially required for flags produced for the federal government) are specified in the book’s 10th edition: “White,” “Old Glory Red,” and “Old Glory Blue.”  These colors apply only to cloth.  There is no perfect way to convert them to RGB for display on desktop and mobile screens or to CMYK for printing.*

One Response to Flag Day 2013

  1. Babette says:

Happy Flag Day. These photos yanked at my heart and my conscience. They’re tender, tragic and remind me that I still have to call my Congressman and yell and thank my assemblywoman for immediate and personal reply. It also makes me miss the flag that was always put out in front of our house on days like today, another very welcome memory. Thank you, RH .
