Practicing Peace (and we sure need the practice)

Pema Chödrön

While I’m not a Buddhist and it’s too glib to classify myself a wannabe, I am a reader and one of the vast legion of admirers of the revered spiritual teacher Pema Chödrön.

I saw in the current issue of Shambhala Sun that although Ani Pema is spending most of 2012 in solitary meditation retreat, on July 14 to mark her 76th birthday, practitioners (and others) can join her for a worldwide virtual retreat dedicated to the theme of Practicing Peace for which she has recorded a special teaching.  It can be accessed at The Pema Chödrön Foundation.  Shambhala Sun concluded the announcement: “From peace in our hearts to peace in the world, there’s nothing more important.”
