This Friday I’m participating in a panel discussion, “Press Materials: Tell Them Who You Are,” at Chamber Music America’s 33rd National Conference, talking about what ensembles need to know to get beautiful and effective promotional photos.
I really like photographing classical ensembles. Partially because I always find it interesting shooting (all kinds of) groups, dealing with the relationships between and forms created by multiple subjects on seamless or in an environment. Also–and this isn’t the least of the reasons I’m into shooting ensembles–I’d love to shoot anyone wearing the musicians’ work clothes–gorgeous party dresses and gowns and tuxes. So different from my work ensembles.
